Happy Jack – Clear Creek Area in Arizona

Situated among the Ponderosa Pines and Blue Spruce atop the Mogollon Rim, approximately 40 miles north of Payson is the area of Happy Jack.  With an elevation of 7000 feet and more, this area is the perfect destination for camping, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. Deer, elk, turkey, bear, antelope and mountain lion abound here in this beautiful area which is mostly National Forest.

Happy Jack saw it’s beginnings in the early part of the 1900’s as a logging camp.  The Happy Jack post office, a branch of the Flagstaff main post office, was established here and services this entire area which includes Clint’s Well, Long Valley, Blue Ridge and Clear Creek Pines.
